The beginning I don't really like these pages, especially since they tend to get very
cliché or corny. Besides, I'm not too big on writing about myself (talking
about myself is a totally different issue). If you stumbled onto this site,
it's probably due to two reasons: 1) you want to see more photos of me or 2)
you want to know more about who that person is in those pictures. Either
way, I guess I'll be glad to tell you more. First off, I'm a guy (duh) .
I'm also a guy who likes other guys. Wait, did you know that? Hopefully that
is not too much of a surprise to you. Just to be understanding of everyone,
I know buzzwords like "gay" isn't in everyone's preferred set of vocabulary.
Just to be very global-minded, you can use whatever word to describe
it...I'm pretty open to slang words or euphuisms, whatever floats your boat.
Being gay/queer is something that's very important to me. Identity and
knowing myself is a value that I prize over anything else. Sexual identity
isn't an easy topic to handle or discuss. However, I think the Internet
makes it a more comfortable forum than the real world. As for myself, I am
okay with talking to people about it; it doesn't make me feel squeamish at
all. It's also a privilege that I am very conscious of.
Now that we have that all set aside, how about a brief rundown?
Stage of Life: I currently consider myself to be an adult. Although some
people may disagree. Of course, I'm only 21. I may not have as many years of
living experience as others in the world, but it doesn't mean that I am
ignorant of what life is. I'm serious about being a consummate professional
when it comes to school or work. That makes me feel old, yet responsible.
However, many people have told me that I should loosen up and act my age. So
for now, I'm trying to do that...
Freedom: That's something that I have plenty of. I'm lucky to say that I
have a lot of liberties in life. I must admit that coming from a well-off
family provides you with a lot of perks. In addition, working long hours in
a swell job has help me save up a good nest egg. For the next year, I can
stay comfortably nurtured and draw upon my savings when needed. Not having
to worry about bills or debt is something that should be treasured. Other
freedoms include traveling and exploring. I am blessed to be able to try new
things and see what works for me.
Body Image: I see myself to be "adequate". I know that I am not an
Adonis, but I certainly don't consider myself to be a leper either. In terms
of fashion, I don't buy into mainstream concepts of "hip n' hot". I prefer
to have my own style. I'm content with the way that I fit into my clothes
and the way that I look without them. In US pop culture, it's so easy to be
sucked into the unrealistic and slightly scary idea of "beauty". I don't
consider myself to be an A&F, AE, Gap, or CK boy. (Gosh, that is scary!) If
I were to describe my style, I guess I would use the words, "urban,
weathered, and chic". Do I work out? Nope, it's not my thing. I'm
comfortable with my body right now...I don't feel the need to bulk up or
whatever.
